Hong Kong Children's Orff Band®

Hong Kong Children's Orff Band® was established in 2010, the first children's Orff band in Hong Kong created by several Art Rhapsody Orff instructors.

Orff Band® children "learn through experience" in the learning process, combining poetry, language rhythm, movement, singing, dancing, instrument ensemble, improvisation, etc. to let children enjoy and learn music. The instructors also attach great importance to students' instrument ensemble and improvisation abilities. We understand that generally Hong Kong children tend to learn instruments through "individual learning" and "rigid" forms, neglecting the ability to learn from peers, appreciate each other, ensemble and create together. Therefore, Orff Band® adds many listening exercises and improvisation training in addition to instrument ensemble sessions, making Orff Band® members have excellent musical accomplishments.

Over the past few years, the instructors have also actively promoted the Hong Kong Children's Orff Band to let more students and parents understand this group in depth. Currently, in addition to learning together every week, Orff Band® has been invited to perform many times to promote Orff music! They have been invited to be interviewed and perform on TVB's paid children's channel, and the most gratifying thing is that Orff Band® won the third place in the 2013 Hong Kong "Master Cup" Children's Talent Performance Competition.

In order to let children receive Orff music education as early as possible, Art Rhapsody Orff Music Education Center offers Orff music enlightenment courses and school-based Orff music classes at different stages, including Hong Kong Ling Liang Church Kindergarten and CCC Shatin Church Pok Hong Kindergarten, etc., preparing students to become members of the Orff Band® in the future!
